Five Holiday Projects That POP! |
Pretty Home Décor
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is unpacking decorations and ornaments that have been used for decades, even generations. But as much as I love those items, it is fun to incorporate something new and pretty every once in a while. If you see yourself running out of time to make a grand new advent calendar or pretty fabric Christmas banner from scratch, try this quick décor project that borrows from the world of pop music instead. It’s guaranteed to join the inventory of prized decorations!

To make your own holiday pop music decoration, you’ll need a divided photo frame—I used one with three openings, but two would work just as well—plus a favorite holiday photo, a sparkly embellishment, and lyrics to a favorite holiday pop music song. (I chose Holly Jolly Christmas, written by Johnny Marks in 1962). Add all of your items to the frame and stand back to admire your handiwork: it’s a big bang for very little time invested, but you can be sure when you pull it out in the future, your sweet photo will return a huge emotional investment each time.
