Simple Staffers Earth-Friendly Product Picks

by Jennifer Wozab

October Afternoon’s rubber charms come mounted on the perfect backing: a notebook-style paper that can be used as a journaling card once all the charms are decorating your scrapbook pages. Take a cue from this earth-friendly packaging and look for ways to re-use all of your packaging. You’ll keep it out of a landfill and have another creative surface for scrapbooking.

Tinkering Ink is doing its best to reduce, reuse, and recycle with its Becoming Green line. This paper kit contains 12 double-sided papers printed on 100% recycled paper and 30% post-consumer waste. Use it, and you’ll have a clear environmental conscience, allowing you to create without guilt!

With their headquarters and production plant in the same state, Scenic Route saves time, money, energy, and gas by printing and producing their products locally. With all of their resources in their own backyard, they can lower their production costs and pass the savings along to you! And best of all, you can pat yourself on the back because you’re saving the ozone when you buy these products too.

Jillibean-Soup is printing the same product line designs two ways: on white and kraft paper. The kraft paper designs are printed on 100% recycled stock, while the white paper designs use fibers from the managed forests under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). All printing is done with vegetable-based inks, which are non-toxic and make the paper easier to be recycled. You’ll be reducing your scrapbooking carbon footprint when scrapping with these products.
