Beyond The Page: Wooden Box

Wooden Box Step-by-Step

Step One Lightly brush 1” border of acrylic paint around edges of box top. Paint entire inside of box. Let dry.

Step Two Using a screwdriver, remove box clasp and back hinges. Set aside. Trim photos to 1 3/4” wide. Trim as many photos as needed to fit around entire perimeter of box.

Step Three Adhere photos to closed box around front, sides, and back. Note: Use staples to secure photo edges to outside corners.

Step Four Insert craft knife into groove of lid opening and drag around box, cutting photos.

Step Five Replace original clasp and hinges. Use paper piercer to punch guide holes through photos for re-drilling screws.

Step Six Position and adhere 8” x 8 1/4” photo to box top. Trim photo edges with scissors. Use sanding block to round edges and sand sides to fit shape of lid.

Step Seven Apply rub-ons directly to photo.

Step Eight Fill box with memorabilia, mini-albums, and souvenirs.
